A day after ZUK CEO and former Lenovo executive Chang Cheng confirmed that the company’s next flagship smartphone will be launched next week, alleged live images showing the Edge have been leaked on the web. While the design of the handset wasn’t a mystery, these leaked images do shed some more light on the Edge.
The images confirm the ZUK Edge will not feature a curved display but a flat display, despite its name suggesting otherwise. However, the smartphone does appear to have very thin bezels on the sides, so it could boasts of a high screen-to-body ratio. At the bottom, you can see quite clearly that the ZUK Edge sports a USB Type-C port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Antenna lines are also visible on the top as well as bottom of the handset. At the back, we can see a rear camera module, an LED flash, as well as a laser autofocus module.
In terms of specs, the ZUK Edge is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.35 GHz, 3000mAh capacity battery, 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP selfie camera. Two memory variants are expected to be on offer – 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM & 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM. The smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the gate, with the company’s ZUI custom skin on top.
The exact announcement date is expected to be made public soon.
