Chinese smartphone maker ZTE has sent out press invites to a media event on the 6th of April. It is being speculated in the Chinese media that the manufacturer will be announcing the nubia Z17 mini at the event, alongside the regular nubia Z17.
Ahead of the event next week, an unannounced nubia device bearing the model number NX569J has appeared on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s official website. The images of the handset published by TENAA on its website reveal a metal build with a dual-camera setup at the back. Similar to quite a few other nubia-branded smartphones from ZTE, the NX569J, believed to be the Z17 Mini, features a circular fingerprint scanner at the rear, positioned above the nubia logo. The only noteworthy design element on the front is the signature red circular home button. Unlike the high-end nubia models, the Z17 mini seems to have rather large bezels on the top as well as the bottom. The side bezels are not very thin either.
In terms of specs, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch display with 1080p Full HD resolution and runs on an octa-core Snapdragon SoC. The SoC is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which is further expandable with a microSD card. TENAA listing for the handset also reveals a 2930mAh capacity battery 16MP selfie camera, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
