Yahoo has unveiled an updated Mail app to address inbox overload and organisational hassle. Available for free on both Android and iOS devices, users can log in with other email accounts like Gmail and Outlook in addition to Yahoo Mail.
By grouping emails into “Views” like Travel and Attachments, users can more intuitively locate important flight updates, correspondence and information for a more stress-free experience. In addition, the Yahoo Mail app will allow for a one-tap unsubscribe option to manage pesky emails.
Other “Views” like People View and Receipts View allow you to prioritise email from human senders and to also help locate your expenditure for claims.
Yahoo Mail will come with a whopping 1,000 GB of storage for email and attachments.
Yahoo Mail isn’t the most popular email provider by a long shot, but the Verizon-owned service stands at a decent second 6.6% to Gmail’s 26.2% and Outlook.com’s 2.4% for Q1 2019 in terms of webmail email opens. However, with around 40% of all email read on mobile, Yahoo Mail ranks a fair bit under Gmail (27.8%), Apple Mail (27.6%) and the Outlook app (9.1%) at sixth place with 6.3% of market share as of April 2013.
The Yahoo Mail app will be available in a subscription-based Yahoo Mail Pro option that comes in at USD 0.99 / SGD 1.48 per month for ad-free usage.
