Xiaomi today released the first official teaser image of its upcoming phablet, dubbed the “Max”.
Like other teaser images, the one shared by Xiaomi doesn’t reveal the complete design but from what we do see, it is quite clear that the render that leaked online yesterday wasn’t fake. While we will have to wait and see if everything else matches as well, it does seem like the render was the real deal and the Max will indeed be almost identical to the Mi 5 in terms of the design.
Surprisingly, the official teaser seems to suggest the “Max” will not be as big as anticipated as it seems to almost fit inside a jeans pocket. Early rumors called for a 6.4” display, but we’re not sure if that is indeed going to be the case after seeing the teaser image. Xiaomi also revealed that the Mi Max will be a completely new product line for Xiaomi, which is why we do not see a Mi branding on the front of the device.
The phablet is rumored to be officially announced next month.
