Two of Xiaomi’s handsets are expected to hit the market at MWC 2018 Barcelona, and renders have been leaked by Najiatech, a China-based tech company. While the Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to be a follow-up to last year’s Mi 5X (branded as the Mi A1 in India), the Mi 7 is anticipated to be Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone this year.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 confirms several rumours going around, with the renders showing a horizontally-arranged dual camera unit and flash. It is also suggested that the Mi 7 may support wireless charging. A front-side render suggests that the Mi 7 could feature a fingerprint scanner on the back, with the thin bezels on all sides reminiscent of that on the Mi Mix 2 leaving little space for a front-facing one. The device sports a now-standard 18:9 aspect ratio that Xiaomi tried so hard to popularise since the original Xiaomi Mi Mix.

It has also been announced by Xiaomi that the Mi 7 will be the first smartphone featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset – which brings with it the potential of a unique face unlock feature (instead of a fingerprint sensor on the rear).

With the Xiaomi Mi 6X, case renders indicate the presence of a similar 18:9 screen aspect ratio, and a fingerprint sensor on the rear.
