Ahead of Xiaomi’s media event on November 30th, key specifications of the company’s upcoming Mi 5c Android smartphone have been leaked. The smartphone will be an affordable alternative to the Mi 5 flagship smartphone unveiled earlier this year.
The leaked spec-sheet for the Mi 5c suggests it is going to be the first Xiaomi smartphone to be powered by the company’s Pine octa-core 14nm SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz, featuring the Mali-T860 MP4 GPU. The octa-core chipset is going to be paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The rear camera is going to be a 12MP unit with support for 1080p video capture and a dual-tone LED flash. Selfies will be handled by an 8MP snapper on the front.
In the connectivity department, the Mi 5c will offer Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Infrared sensor, and a USB Type-C port. While the leaked spec-sheet doesn’t list the battery size, rumors suggest the Mi 5c could pack an impressively large 4500mAh unit inside. In terms of design, the smartphone is going to feature a glass back with a metal frame in the middle.
The Mi 5c will launch with MIUI 8 out of the box when it goes on sale, based on the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It is expected to be priced at $144 in China, as revealed by a pre-release poster spotted online a few days back.
