A mysterious Xiaomi smartphone was recently spotted on the GeekBench benchmark database with the codename ‘Libra’.
The benchmark listing doesn’t tell us much about the smartphone, except that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset and offer 2GB of RAM. Quite obviously, the rather impressive internals point to the device being an upper mid-range smartphone. On the software front, the Xiaomi ‘Libra’ will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Xiaomi’s custom Android UI running on top.
Since this is the very first time that we are seeing the ‘Libra’ pop up online, we may have to wait a few more weeks to uncover more details about the device. It could perhaps be a smartphone that Xiaomi may position right below the Mi5 but with a more aggressive price point, something similar to the Xiaomi Mi4i.
