AMD Radeon R9 300 series lineup was expected to have been announced by now but unfortunately we are not sure when the new cards will appear now as the company seems to be in a dilemma about the launch timeframe. However, a new leak courtesy graphics card manufacturer XFX suggests that the first AMD Radeon R9 300 series GPU will debut soon and unlike what we were hoping for, it will not be the high-end R9 380 or R9 390.
According to the leak, the AMD Radeon R9 370 will be the first R9 300 series card to be launched this year. It is expected to ship by early April. The leak reveals the R9 370 will come with a Trinidad PRO GPU. XFX will be launching a R9 370 Core Edition graphics card with 2/4GB GDDR5 memory and a 110 to 130W TDP.. Ports will include Dual-DVI, HDMI and a DisplayPort. The leaked document lists the 2GB variant as having just a single fan, while the 4GB variant will most likely get two or perhaps even three fans.
While the new leak does raise hopes of an earlier than expected launch, we also need to keep in mind that more recent indications from AMD point to a Computex reveal of the new Radeon R9 300 series cards.
