The latest time frame comes from Microsoft Mexico’s social account.
Windows Phone hasn’t been doing that great in the market, and the Windows 10 Mobile update for Windows Phone 8 devices has been delayed a couple of times in the last few months. Microsoft hasn’t revealed a concise date for when the update will actually roll out, but according to the company’s Mexican social account, February 29th could be the eventful day.
Microsoft Lumia Mexico’s Facebook account says “Hello, the update to Windows 10 will be available as from 29 February, but remember that not all devices will be able to do so. Greetings!” It’s the first time a concrete date has been mentioned, though as the company states not all devices will get the update at once. This is quite normal for software updates, so it’s good to see Windows Phone users have a particular day to look forward to.
Windows 10 Mobile is already out in the market through devices like the Lumia 950 and Lumia 650, but it’s yet to make it to any existing smartphone. The Lumia 950 and 950 XL were criticized for not being very complete on the software front, so all these delays could work out pretty well for the final software that will roll out to Windows Phone 8 smartphones.
