Vivo unveils new X6 and X6 Plus flagships with 4GB RAM and a premium metal build

After a series of leaks over the past few leaks, Vivo has finally announced its two latest flagship devices, the X6 and X6 Plus.

The Vivo X6 is a 5.2” smartphone with a 5.2” 1080 x 1920 Full HD AMOLED display, octa-core 1.7 GHz chipset, 4GB RAM, 32GB onboard expandable storage, 13 megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus, 8 megapixel front-facing camera, 2400mAh capacity battery, Asahi Kaisei AK4375A dedicated audio DAC, and a thin 6.56mm profile.

The X6 Plus comes with a 5.7” 1080 x 1920 Full HD AMOLED display, 64GB of expandable storage, 3000mAh capacity battery, ES9028 DAC audio chip (first on a smartphone), ES9603 amp, and a YAMAHA YSS-205X digital surround chip to deliver a fantastic Hi-Fi sound experience. Rest of the key specs are similar to its smaller sibling the X6. A more premium version of the X6 Plus will be on sale as well, packing a larger 4000mAh capacity battery.

Both smartphones also come with a fingerprint scanner on the back and run Vivo’s Funtouch OS, based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The two smartphones will be offered in Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold (inspired by Apple) color options.

Prices start at $390 for the Vivo X6, going up to $500 for the X6 Plus variant with a 4000mAh battery. If you wish to go for the one with 3000mAh battery instead, you will need to shell out $469.
