At an attractive price point under S$400, the Vivo S1 comes equipped with Google’s latest Android 9 operating system out of the box, overlaid with Vivo’s proprietary FunTouch OS.

The 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display of the phone belies its more affordable price point and allows for an always-on display for greater functionality and customizability.

With its 19.5:9 aspect ratio, the S1 is ideal for entertainment, and also for gaming when coupled with the Ultra Game Mode and Multi-Turbo Engine that enhances the gaming experience by hiding distractions and enhancing framerates.

The Vivo S1 sets its focus on photography. A triple camera array on the rear provides greater flexibility with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX499 main camera that is augmented by an 8-megapixel AI super wide-angle camera offering 120-degree field-of-view. The third camera is a 2-megapixel depth camera for depth-of-field simulation.

On the front, the S1 packs a whopping 32-megapixel selfie camera to produce images that can be augmented with the AI Face Beauty function, along with Selfie Frontlight, AR stickers and AI filters.

Built to last the busiest of days, the 4,500mAh battery supports Dual-Engine Fast Charging.

Usually available on higher-end models, the S1 also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner that allows for convenient unlocking under 0.42 seconds without having to lift the phone or strain your neck. This allows for an impressive 90% screen-to-body ratio for an immersive user experience.

Powering it all is an octa-core processor with a 12nm process that clocks up to 2.0GHz, along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage to ensure multitasking, file storage and the most demanding of tasks are dealt with smoothly.

Vivo has also made big improvements in terms of AI. Onboard is a hardware smart button that summons a more user-friendly version of Google Assistant, and launches the Jovi Image Recogniser with a double-tap. The Jovi Image Recogniser allows users to easily search a hundred of the biggest e-commerce platforms for half a billion products.

It will be available in Cosmic Purple and Aqua Blue, and comes with two years of warranty along with a one-time complimentary screen replacement for peace of mind.
