Verizon blacking out employee vacations between September 18-22 for iPhone launch

The new iPhone is expected to be released on September 20th. Following in the footsteps of the two major U.S. carriers, Verizon too has reportedly blacked out employee vacation around the date when the launch is expected.

The first report about a U.S. carrier blacking out certain days on which their retail employees can’t take a vacation, came a few days ago. T-Mobile has reportedly issued the blackout for employees between September 20 and 22. The very next day it was reported that AT&T too has issued a blackout for the second half of September, leading many to believe that the new iPhone might very well be launched in this time period.

One latest report claims that the largest U.S. carrier, Verizon Wireless, has blocked employee vacations as well. Verizon retail store employees reportedly can’t take a vacation between September 18 and 22, the dates are in the same time frame as that of the other two carriers. No other major launch is expected during this time, and carriers usually don’t blackout days for other devices. This is a behavior that is normally seen before the imminent launch of a new iPhone.

Apple is actually expected to announce two new iPhones on September 10, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. It remains to be seen if both iPhones will be released on the same day. Once the announcement has been made, it is currently believed that the release will take place on September 20. Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about its iPhone plans as yet.
