Unannounced 5.5” Xiaomi smartphone gets certified by TENAA

Yesterday, an unannounced Xiaomi smartphone with the model number MAE136 had been spotted on the TENAA website. Yet another upcoming smartphone from the manufacturer has been spotted on the Chinese regulatory agency website, this time a larger 5.5” model. The smartphone, carrying the model number MBE6A5, is listed to feature a 5.5-inch sized display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution.

The smartphone runs on a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20/Helio X25 chipset with the Mali-T880MP4 GPU. In terms of memory, the smartphone is listed to include 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which will be further expandable via a microSD card slot.

Like other smartphones from Xiaomi, the MBE6A5 will also be a dual-SIM smartphones and feature 4G LTE network support. In the camera department, the smartphone will be equipped with a 13MP resolution camera at the back and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. As can be seen in the image posted by TENAA, the smartphone does feature a fingerprint sensor as well, mounted at the back. The battery inside will be a 4000mAh unit, so battery life should be very impressive. When launched, the smartphone will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, Matte Black, and Dark Gray colors.

Judging by the specs, it looks the device could turn out to be another Redmi Note series smartphone. Since the smartphone has received the green signal from TENAA, there are chances that Xiaomi might officially unveil the smartphone in the coming weeks.
