Chinese smartphone maker UMI is reportedly working on a successor to the UMI Touch.
According to the folks over at GizmoChina, the smartphone will be marketed as the UMI Touch 2 and is going to be powered by MediaTek’s new Helio X25 deca-core chipset. The Helio X25 is a slightly more powerful version of the Helio X20 chipset, clocked at 2.5GHz. Meizu had earlier announced that the chipset will be exclusive to its devices but that doesn’t seem to be the case as LeEco recently unveiled the Le Pro 2 powered by the exact same chipset.
While no other details regarding the hardware specs are available currently, it is rumored that the smartphone could be priced at 1170 Yuan ($179.99) when it goes on sale.
