Two unannounced Ubisoft games set for April 2014 release

Five major Ubisoft title are due over the next twelve months, two of which have yet to be announced.

While at an investor call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that five major Ubisoft games are set for release over the next twelve months. Three of these titles, due to be released this year, are Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag; Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Watchdogs. The two remaining titles, which are set for release in April of next year, have yet to be announced, and according to Guillemot, one of them is an entirely new IP. The company also revealed that the Ubisoft Toronto title 1666 has been frozen and is not one of the two mystery titles.

In total, the five releases are expected to increase 2013/2014 sales to £1.2 billion, with a total profit of £100 million. The sales income for the past year was £1.05 billion, a 20% increase from the year before. The past year’s gross profit was higher too, settling in at £770 million, though the net profit ended up being £90 million after advertising and development expenses. The previous year had seen a £70 million net profit.

As a side note, it was also revealed during the financial call that Ubisoft had sold more than 6 million copies of its 2012 shooter Far Cry 3.
