Two Nokia D1C variants rumored

The folks over at NokiaPowerUser have come up with a new report detailing the Nokia D1C smartphone, expected to be one of the first new devices to be announced by HMD Global at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona next year. The latest report suggests the smartphone will arrive in two variants, with both differing from one another in many areas.

The more affordable variant of the D1C is tipped to feature a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution display, 13MP rear camera, and 2GB of RAM. On the other hand, the more expensive variant of the D1C will arrive with a bigger 5.5-inch 1080p resolution display, 3GB of RAM, and a 16MP primary shooter at the back. Both variants will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, 16GB of onboard memory, and an 8MP front-facing camera. On the software front, both variants will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

Apart from the D1C, Nokia is rumored to be working on two flagship handsets as well, which could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset and feature 5.2-inch/5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED displays. While no detailed info is available yet, the two flagships are tipped to come with Carl Zeiss optics and unique ‘Graphene’ based sensor at the back. An entry-level handset codenamed ‘Pixel’ was also spotted online recently.

The D1C as well as the other Nokia-branded smartphones and tablets expected to debut next year will be developed by HMD Global and manufactured by Foxconn.
