Tweet by Qualcomm confirms Snapdragon 800 in Lumia 1520

Qualcomm mentioned in a tweet through its Snapdragon twitter account that the Lumia 1520 will indeed feature the Snapdragon 800.

There is finally some confirmation regarding the internals of the Lumia 1520. The device has been leaked and its hardware details have been rumoured for over a month now, and today Qualcomm has put some of those to bed by announcing that Nokia’s upcoming phablet will come with the Snapdragon 800 chip.

The tweet, which was sent from the official Snapdragon account, was deleted shortly thereafter, but it does confirm that the device will feature the latest SoC that Qualcomm has to offer. The Snapdragon 800 has been featured in a host of high-end devices that include the likes of the LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1 and a few variants of the Galaxy Note 3, but is yet to make its way to a device on the Windows Phone platform, which will be addressed by its inclusion in the Lumia 1520.

Other rumors indicate that the Lumia 1520 will feature a 6-inch full-HD screen, 2 GB Ram and a 20 MP camera that uses PureView imaging technology. Nokia was originally going to unveil the Lumia 1520 at an event later this month, but that date has been pushed back to October 22.
