According to some rumors, TSMC may be planning to delay the risk production of 10nm chips by two quarters, delaying the launch of 10nm chips.

Before TSMS, it was reported that Intel has decided to delay the mass production of 10nm chips. So it is starting to look like 10nm chips may not be here at least until 2017. The Business Korea report claims TSMC has delayed to risk production of 10nm processing lines to the second quarter of next year. Mass production on the 10nm fab is now expected to begin only by the second half of next year.

TSMC had earlier announced that it hopes to start risk production of 10nm chips by the fourth quarter of this year. The delay means companies like Apple will have to wait until the second half of 2017 to use 10nm chips on their products.
