Thecus launches a new Intel Braswell powered 2-bay N2810 Multimedia NAS

Thecus today announced a new 2-bay NAS, the N2810. It is a NAS server designed to optimize multitasking and provide seamless 4K multimedia playback.

The N2810 is powered by the latest generation Intel Braswell N3050 dual-core processor, clocked at 1.6GHz. It also packs 2GB of DDR3 RAM and supports AES-NI encryption engine for increased performance and security.

The N2810 features a sleek and compact design that allows it to gel well with your entertainment center at home or your office desk. There are three USB 3.0 ports on offer, along with two LAN ports allowing for 7 modes of link aggregation. For local playback, you get an HDMI port as well. The N2810 supports a number of USB devices, Apple TV, and Chromecast. In addition to these, you also get support for various apps such as Kodi and Plex.

The NAS runs on the company’s new ThecusOS 7.0 with new features such as Photo Station, Thecus App Center, and User Profile. It also comes bundled with free Intel Security and Acronis for data protection. Cloud services such as DropBox, Amazon S3, and ElephantDrive are supported as well.

The Thecus N2810 will start shipping globally next month onwards with an MSRP of $319 (US).
