Thecus has launched seven- and eight-bay NAS units, the N7770-10G and N8880U-10G, aimed at small businesses looking for increased throughput and storage accessibility .
The new models are outfitted with a 3.3GHz Core i3-2120 CPU, along with 8GB DDR3 ECC RAM and a 10 Gigabit throughput. The NAS units come with seven levels of link aggregation, including built-in load balancing and failover support. Businesses looking for always-on connectivity will be able to use High Availability, through which two NAS units are constantly synced to one another so that if one NAS fails, the other unit takes over immediately.
Each NAS units offers six USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and one HDMI port, with the ability to accommodate both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch hard drives.
Data security, protection and transfer are all integrated, as one would expect in a NAS catered at the business segment. As is standard with NAS offerings, the N7770-10G and N8880U-10G can be managed by Thecus’ web-based operating system, called OS5, which offers a wide range of utilities for data and content management and multimedia storage and retrieval.
