The Last of Us early reviews look promising

The Last of Us Farm

The highly-anticipated PS3 exclusive has been reviewed internationally and it looks good.

Embargo’s are a fairly serious matter in the world of video game journalism, especially with big releases. The big release in this case is Last of Us and an Iranian website, Baziwood, has found reviews posted online before being immediately removed by their publishers.

The Last of Us Town

The game has already received an immense amount of praise in previews at video game expo’s around the world and it looks like that momentum will continue with these deleted reviews. The most recent was by OPM UK, the official Playstation Magazine in the UK, giving the game an unprecedented 10 out of 10. The OPM review is incredibly positive and praises the game on it’s technological and graphical achievements. The supposed final paragraph of the review concludes the game is “a work of art” where “amazing sights and sounds fuel an emotionally draining, constantly compelling end of days adventure. This is Naughty Dog pushing the PS3 to its absolute limit. Over to you PS4.”

The initial leak came from film magazine, Empire, and has added more fuel to the review fire giving the video game 5 out of 5. The review was posted online and will be featured in their next issue but has since been removed from their website. They too praise the game on the graphical quality and engaging story, calling the game “an easy contender for the best game of this console generation.”  Comparison’s from those who previewed the game have already called the game possibly the greatest ever made, but Empire adds “The Last of Us is not just the finest game that Naughty Dog has yet crafted and…may also prove to be gaming’s Citizen Kane moment.” A term often reserved for entertainment properties that change their medium or platform.

The game has been teased constantly and with the multiplayer footage released, as well as positive reviews of the God of War unlockable demo, The Last of Us will definitely continue with the hype train up until release day. Regardless of the reviews, the game has been a technical achievement for Naughty Dog on every front and we could not be more excited to bring you our own review of the game in the coming weeks.
