Team Group today announced the new L5 LITE series of entry-level SATA-based solid state drives for the consumer market.
The L5 LITE drives feature a lightweight design and deliver impressive transfer speeds when compared to traditional hard disk drives. Team Group claims the drives achieve a sequential read speed of up to 500 MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 400 MB/s. If you have been using traditional hard disk drives as your primary boot drive, upgrading to the L5 LITE or any other entry-level solid state drive should give your system a significant boost in terms of performance.
The Team Group L5 LITE drives will be available in 60GB, 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities. Team Group is using “selected flash memory chip”, which is durable, shockproof, as well as fall resistant. So in case you accidentally drop your notebook and it lands on a hard surface, you can be sure that your data will be completely safe.
L5 LITE drives support Windows TRIM optimization command, which releases unused space to be used for system writes immediately. This helps speed up the transfer and write performance of the SSD, while also minimizing performance degradation in the long term. The drives also feature a built-in smart algorithm management mechanism with garbage collection, Wear-Leveling technology, and ECC (Error Correcting Code) functions.
