TCL, renown for its stellar television technology, has announced its expansion into a multitude of family devices. Founded in Shanghai, TCL has seen exponential year-on-year growth in global markets, with an intention to further expand into Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, amongst other countries.
The company announced its strategy of vertical integration – transforming from TCL Multimedia to TCL Electronics. This means they are now capable of creating a wide variety of electronics – from fridges to headphones, and from speakers to air conditioning. TCL aims to be the top 3 TV by 2020 in Europe, and enter into the audio and air conditioning markets.
Upcoming TCL TVs will feature 20,000 mini-LEDs in 1,000 zones in a form-factor slimmer than 1cm thick.
The brand aims to accomplish this with its AIXIOT thrust – combining AI and IoT in a series of consumer products. This ecosystem will encompass Home, Life, Lodge and Park categories, which correspond to smart home solutions, lifestyle and everyday applications, and hospitality and workplace products.
These will support Google Home and Alexa, which makes for greater convenience and integration. We can expect audio products a standalone sound bar, along with personal audio like its upcoming SOCL, MTRO, ACTV, ELIT headphones in July.
