Spike TV’s VGA 10 awards show aftermath

Did you miss Spike's VGA 10th anniversary awards show? Jump in to see which of your gaming favorites won, as well as a look at the world premieres.

Spike TV's annual Video Game Awards have recognized the year's most acclaimed and enjoyable games, and this year's 10th anniversary special hosted by Samuel L. Jackson was no different.

Many of the winners of VGA 10 were surprising, but the VGA's have always given the power to the people, tallying up their votes to announce the winners of each respective category during the gala event.

Millions of people–including gamers and geeks everywhere–tuned in last night for Spike TV's distinct brand of award show awesomeness, but if you were one of the unlucky ones who weren't able to catch the show, you can find a few of the winners for the major categories below:

2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

Best Xbox 360 Game: Halo 4 (Microsoft Studios/343 Industries)

Best PS3 Game: Journey (Sony Computer Entertainment America/ ThatGameCompany)

Best Wii/Wii U Game: New Super Mario Bros. U (Nintendo)

Best PC Game: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (2K Games/Firaxis Games)

Best Indie Game: Journey

Best Shooter: Borderlands 2 (2K Games, Gearbox Software)

Best Action/Adventure Game: Dishonored (Bethesda Softworks, Arkane Studios)

Best RPG: Mass Effect 3 (EA, BioWare)

Best Fighting Game: Persona 4 Arena (Atlus, Arc System Works)

Best Graphics: Halo 4

Spike's VGA's also give gamers and viewers a first-hand look at upcoming titles that are in the works, allowing them to see a sneak-peek at what's to come next year in the world of gaming.

VGA 10's world premieres included a brand new trailer for Gears of War: Judgment, a new Bioshock: Infinite teaser trailer, an additional teaser trailer for The Last of Us  and finally a trailer for Castlevania: The Lords of Shadow 2.
