Sony Xperia Z3 makes its way to the FCC

Sony’s upcoming flagship continues to make unofficial appearances, and the FCC certification hints at a faster launch in the US than previous Sony flagships.

Sony Xperia Z3 makes its way to the FCC

The Xperia Z2 has been available in markets for only three months, but we have already seen its successor crop up in numerous revealing leaks. Now, the Xperia Z3 has managed to make its way to the FCC, offering us fresh details on Sony’s upcoming flagship.

Well, there’s not much in the way of details on the phone’s hardware, but the FCC filing confirms that the Z3 will look similar to the Xperia Z2, something leaked photos have already hinted at. The early FCC certification also indicates that Sony might be going against the norm of making stateside consumers wait for months before they can get their hands on the company’s phones, and could launch the Xperia Z3 in the US and international markets simultaneously.

The Xperia Z3 is expected to be unveiled in September at the IFA, like the Xperia flagships from previous years. It is said to be a minor upgrade over the Xperia Z2, with a Full HD display, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, and the 20.7-megapixel Sony G Lens camera setup that we have seen on the Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, and the Xperia Z2, though some of the specs are likely to change leading up to the official launch of the handset.
