Sony Honami IFA press invite September 4

Sony’s much-hyped Xperia i1 Honami, the company’s to-be flagship Smartphone for 2013 which will hopefully demolish all competition and leave them in the dust, gets a full exposure with regard to specifications from ePrice. The publication mentions that the would-be Lumia 1020 competitors will pack a 1/2.3″ sensor size and 20.7MP camera at the back, while not having a sizeable bump protruding out of the back of the phone. The Exmor RS sensor is paired with a Sony G-Lens and packs enhanced Cybershot image processing algorithm for the best quality mobile pictures possible. The dedicated BIONZ image processor (hardware feature) will assist in the process. There’s even a 2 MP Exmor R front camera which we’d love to check out with self-shots and video calls.

The dimensions of the phone will be slightly larger than the current flagship Sony Xperia Z, and our own source says that the thickness of the device will be closer to 9mm than 8.3mm as per ePrice. In addition, Honami is said to pack the beastly Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1080p Triluminos display with Sony X-Reality Mobile Engine (the successor to Mobile Bravia Engine 2), will come with IP X5/7 certification, NFC, Miracast and a plentiful 3000 mAh battery to keep this beast chugging along all day long. Needless to say, we simply can’t wait for the 4th of September, the Sony press event at IFA 2013, Berlin.
