The Sony Xperia C6 was first outed in January through leaked renders, and the handset was expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress the next month. Sony decided to announce its new Xperia X lineup at the event, however, and the Xperia C6 hasn’t been heard of since. Today, the Xperia C6 has made its second appearance, this time in the flesh in multiple leaked images.
The Xperia C6 is mentioned as being a 6-inch device, but what’s notable in the picture is the rather large camera module at the front. It’s similar to the front camera seen on the Xperia C5 Ultra, with a smaller LED flash accompanying the sensor, though the live images do not exactly match the leaked renders from earlier this year. The back has a similarly sized camera module, and the phone curves just a little at the top and bottom at the rear side.
There is no word on the Xperia C6’s specifications at this point, but it should offer a couple of upgrades over the C5 Ultra whenever it launches. Sony had announced that it would be focusing on fewer devices starting this year, and the Xperia C6 Ultra will probably be made available sometime after the Xperia X handsets go on sale.
