Sony Xperia A appears in FCC filing, 5 inch screen in tow

An FCC filing has exposed the Xperia A by Sony. An unannounced device that will pack a 5" screen, LTE, and a 2300mAh removable battery.

If there is one thing you can count on Sony for it's to release multiple flagship products in one year. At CES in January they announced the Xperia Z and the more compact Xperia ZL. Since then there have been a hefty amount of rumors for everything ranging from a camera phone to a couple low-end devices. This one however sounds like it belongs to the high end if the specifications are anything to go by.

Oddly enough it's the FCC filing itself that details the device. It mentions a 5" 1080p display and a removable 2300mAh battery. The latter is quite notable considering the Z and the ZL both lack it. The rest is everything else you'd expect with 16GB of storage, 13 megapixel camera, and LTE. There is no word on what processor it's packing at the moment.

Although it's unknown when this product will become official it isn't unreasonable to expect it at the NTT DoCoMo event which is running a countdown you can click here to see. NTT DoCoMo is Japan's predominant mobile carrier, so there is a chance this product won't be seen anywhere else for quite some time. We'll have to wait until the event itself to get any word.
