Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios confirmed on his Twitter account today that the company plans to bring PlayStation 4 Remote Play functionality to PC and MAC.
The executive revealed that Sony is currently working on an official Remote Play application for the PC and Mac platforms to allow users to stream PS4 games using a local connection. Currently the Remote Play function is limited to the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV, and select Xperia smartphones and tablets.
Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. 😀

The announcement comes days after an unofficial app was released online, allowing PlayStation 4 owners to stream games to their PCs. Unfortunately, no ETA was provided, so it isn’t exactly clear how much time it could take Sony to release the official app. Sony’s key rival in the console market, Microsoft released its Xbox One game streaming feature earlier this year, built into its latest Windows 10 operating system.
