Sony rumored to be developing a “PS4.5” for 4K gaming

According to sources, Sony is working on an upgraded version of the PS4 with focus on 4K gaming.

The upgraded version of the PS4, currently being referred to as the “PS4.5”, will reportedly include a more powerful GPU that will be capable of supporting 4K gaming as well as providing all the power needed to enhance the PlayStation VR experience. As everyone knows, the PS4 is simply not capable of supporting games at 4K resolution as it was mainly designed for gaming mainly at 1080p resolution.

Sadly, it isn’t yet know when Sony could launch the upgraded PS4 variant, or how much it will cost once it is launched. Since the PS4 has now dropped to $350 from $400, it could be possible that Sony might choose to sell the upgraded “PS4.5” at the PS4’s original price point of $400.
