Android 6.0 Marshmallow got a major boost this month in terms of how many devices are running the latest iteration of the OS, and Sony is now helping it grow further as it has begun rolling out Android 6.0 to the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact. This comes a month after Marshmallow rolled out to the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact, Sony’s latest flagships on the market.
The update is rolling out to select models of the three devices, though it shouldn’t long before it becomes available for every model that is out in the wild. The update brings a slew of new features, including Google Now on Tap, advanced permissions, enhanced battery life (especially in idle thanks to Doze mode), and better performance. It also includes a new camera app for the three phones, the same one that can be found on the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact.
