Sony isn’t sure if it will release a PlayStation 5

PlayStation 5

PlayStation chief Shuhei Yoshida recently revealed in an on-stage interview that he isn’t sure if there will be a PlayStation 5.

When asked about the PlayStation 5’s design by Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning, Yoshida replied by saying “you mean if”. Lanning talked about the interview on the Game Informer Show (spotted by NeoGAF user generic_username).

“I said, ‘well, what does the PlayStation 5 look like?‘ and he said ‘you mean if’. I said ‘are you willing to say that on a stage?‘ and he said ‘yeah, it’s an if’.”

Since Yoshida wasn’t very clear, we cannot assume that there will be no PlayStation 5. We do think it is possible that Sony or Yoshida himself could issue a statement regarding the matter, in order to help clear the confusion.
