Sony executive confirms the existence of the PlayStation 4 ‘Neo’

PlayStation 4

It is now official. The PlayStation 4 “Neo” is indeed under development.

The confirmation came today from Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment in an interview given to the Financial Times. In addition to confirming the existence of the console, the executive also made it clear that Sony has no plans of revealing the 4K capable console at its E3 keynote next week.

While he did not divulge any details regarding the console’s availability, he did say that the PlayStation Neo would be priced at “more than $350” in the US. “It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” said House.

Rival Microsoft too is rumored to be working on an upgraded Xbox One console, which is allegedly codenamed “Scorpio”. Early rumors suggest the “Scorpio” is going to be even more powerful than the PlayStation 4 Neo.
