According to a report from NokiaPowerUser, Microsoft is currently testing Lumia prototypes running Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 820 SoC.
Reportedly, the Lumia flagships powered by the chipset will debut next year, possibly towards the second half of the year. Two devices are said to be under testing, possibly the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL successors. Similar to the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, the next year’s flagship duo is also expected to utilize some sort of advanced cooling technology to keep the chipset from getting excessively hot.
The report also mentions that the Surface Phone will be a business flagship device and will not focus on absolute specs but will be targeted at the business end of the market with Win32 apps support and enhanced continuum. Based on an older report from the website, the Surface Phone is likely to be announced a few months before the Lumia flagship devices for next year.
