Snapdragon 620 powered Samsung Galaxy A9 shows up in GeekBench database yet again

Galaxy A8

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A9 phablet has been leaked yet again, and surprisingly, this time as well the device has shown up on the GeekBench database like the last time.

However this time, the benchmark listing does reveal the actual model number of the device, SM-A9000. In terms of specs, we’re looking at an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 MSM8976 SoC with four ARM Cortex-A72 and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores. Along with the powerful chipset, the phablet will also be equipped with 3GB of RAM, just like the Galaxy A7 successor.

GeekBench

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 scores pretty high on the GeekBench benchmark, almost matching the scores that the Snapdragon 810 is capable of. So the Galaxy A9 will definitely be a fantastic device as far as performance goes and could be a big hit if Samsung prices it right.

Along with the Galaxy A9, Samsung is also working on successors to the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and the Galaxy A7.
