Do you have an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card on your desktop or notebook computer? If yes, you will be able to easily boost frame-rates in games by up to 5% with a trick shared by a Reddit user.
To enjoy the easy performance boost, you will need to disable the NVIDIA Streaming windows service. This service starts up automatically when Windows starts. It mainly helps you stream whatever game you are playing to your NVIDIA Shield console.
In order to disable the service, you will need to look for the ‘NVIDIA Steamer Service’ in Windows Services. Once you locate the service, set the ‘start-up-type’ setting to ‘Disabled’ in Properties. Now restart your PC to save the changes. That’s it. You should now see a slight increase in frame-rates as well as lower CPU usage while gaming. The difference may not be huge, but you can’t really expect much more from a tweak as simple as this one.
