Samsung today announced its latest Tizen powered smartphone, the Z3. Successor to last year’s Z1, the new model is also targeted at the entry-level segment and packs unremarkable specs.
Perhaps the main USP of the smartphone is its design. The Z3 features many design touches inspired by the Galaxy Note 5. The back of the device in particular, looks quite similar to the flagship phablet. The display is of the Super AMOLED variety with 720 x 1280 HD resolution and measures 5-inches diagonally. Powering the smartphone is a quad-core Spreadtrum chipset, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage.
At the back, the Z3 is equipped with an 8MP shooter, while on the front the device packs a 5MP 120-degree camera for selfies and video calls. It also comes with a pretty decent battery for an entry-level smartphone, rated at 2600mAh. The smartphone supports dual SIM cards but doesn’t offer 4G LTE connectivity.
The Samsung Z3 will soon be available in the Indian market at a price of Rs.8,500 ($130) in Gold, Black, and Silver color options.
