Samsung announces SE370 AMD FreeSync monitor with integrated wireless charging feature

Samsung has announced the world’s first monitor to come with an integrated wireless charging function for compatible mobile devices such as your smartphone. First in line is the 23.6-inch variant, carrying the model number SE370.

The monitor features a circular wireless charging area on the monitor’s stand, where you will have to simply place your mobile device and it will begin to get charged automatically. An LED light also comes on whenever your mobile device is charging.

Samsung SE370 uses a Plane-to-Line Switching (PLS) LCD panel with wide-viewing angles of 178 degrees. Peak brightness is claimed to be 300 cd/m2, so you shouldn’t find any difficulty using the monitor under any lighting environment.

As with most new monitors coming out these days, the Samsung SE370 also comes with a few tricks up its sleeves to reduce eye strain. The monitor features an Eye Saver Mode that optimizes the picture quality based on the content displayed on screen.

For gamers, the monitor offers AMD FreeSync support, synchronizing the screen refresh rate with the frame rate of the AMD graphics card in your PC to minimize input latency and reduce stutter or lag during gameplay and video playback. It also boasts of a fast 4ms response time and a dedicated game mode that can be activated with the touch of a button.

The monitor will be available for pre-order starting today, exclusively through Newegg for an MSRP of $249.99.
