Samsung rumored to supply OLED displays for Apple Watch and perhaps future iPhones

A report published by ETNews Korea claims Samsung will now join LG as one of the suppliers of OLED display panels for the Apple Watch. So far, LG was the sole supplier of OLED displays to Apple and was recently rumored to have secured its position as the main supplier for the second-gen Apple Watch as well.

Samsung has also reportedly sent OLED panel samples to Apple for use in future iPhones as well. Apple could make a decision by next month on whether or not it wants to switch to OLED or if it will continue to use IPS LCD displays on its iPhone lineup.

We have heard rumors of Apple considering OLED panels for future iPhones in the recent past as well, so it may not be far-fetched anymore to expect an OLED display on the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7s.
