Samsung starts 2018 off with a bang with the Galaxy A8 and A8+ joining Samsung’s Galaxy A series. Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018)

The newest addition to Samsung’s smartphone family, Galaxy A8 and A8+ is packed with new features. This includes Samsung’s first Dual Front Camera with Live Focus. The new front-facing cameras will enable the user to choose different selfie style. Live Focus will enable users to create and adjust bokeh effects before or after taking a photo. These new features will certainly make taking photos a lot more fun and flexible.

As their main shooter, the A8 and A8+ feature a 16MP rear camera. The rear camera also features low-aperture lenses that will allow taking photos in low-light conditions a breeze. Shaky footage will also be eliminated with the video digital image stabilization (VDis) technology contained in both devices. Users can also now create time-lapse videos with the new hyper-lapse feature.

The Galaxy A8 and A8+ screens will be at 5.6 inches and 6.0 inch respectively. The newcomers will also feature an edge-to-edge, Infinity display. With an 18:5:9 display ratio, the Galaxy A8 and A8+ provide users with the ultimate cinematic experience when watching movies or playing games. Supported by a premium metal frame and curved glass on the back and front, the new Galaxy A8 and A8+ will provide users with an ergonomic and comfortable grip while being sleek and stylish.

Both of the new smartphones will also feature IP68-certified water and dust resistance. This means they would be able to take a beating: be it rain, sweat, sand, or dust. Storage on these devices would also be expandable up to 256GB with microSD cards. They will also be the first in the Galaxy A line-up to support the Samsung Gear VR. Much like its other cousins in Samsung’s S series, the A8 and A8+ will be having facial recognition security features.

The Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018) will be available from 27 January 2017 at a recommended retail price of SGD648 and SGD798 respectively, inclusive of GST. Available in Gold and Black, the devices will be available through all local telco operators, selected consumer electronic stores, authorized mobile retailers, Samsung Experience Stores and selected online retailers.
