Samsung Pay is coming to Singapore this quarter, confirms Samsung

Samsung Pay

Samsung Electronics has confirmed that it plans to launch its mobile payment service Samsung Pay in Singapore within the second quarter of this year.

Samsung has partnered with all the major payments such as MasterCard and Visa, with American Express expected to get onboard after the second quarter. Major Banks such as DBS, OCBC and Standard Chartered will be onboard from day 1.

Interestingly, Samsung made the announcement barely a day after Apple officially launched its mobile payment service, Apple Pay, in Singapore.

Once the service goes live, those of you with a Galaxy Note 5 4G+, Galaxy S6 Edge+ 4G+, Galaxy S7 4G+, and Galaxy S7 Edge 4+ will be able to make payments securely using your smartphone at a number of major retailers and merchants across Singapore.
