Samsung has a new 2016 device for consumers, with the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 getting the modernization treatment this time around. The Galaxy Tab A is listed on the company’s website in Germany in black and white color options and a price tag of €289 for the Wi-Fi variant and €349 for the LTE variant. Availability is set to begin next month in Europe.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 LCD display, the octa-core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and 16GB of internal storage. The tablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a 7,300 mAh battery under the hood. In terms of design, the tablet looks like any other Samsung device from this year but doesn’t get the premium metal or glass bodies of devices like the upcoming Galaxy C5 or the Galaxy S flagships.
There’s no word on availability in other markets, but Samsung is likely to make the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) accessible to consumers in more regions. A 7-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab A (2016) was also launched earlier this year and is likely to make it to retail along with the 10.1-inch variant.
