Samsung Galaxy S7 Olympic Edition said to be in the works

According to SamMobile, Samsung is working on a special Olympic Edition of the Galaxy S7 for a launch alongside the Olympics in Rio in August. Samsung had announced its intentions to make virtual reality a part of the Olympics this year, and a Galaxy S7 Olympic Edition paired with the company’s Gear VR virtual reality headset could possibly launch in the latter half of this year.

Samsung is reportedly working on two apps for the Olympics as well, but other than that there are no details available. The Korean giant had launched a similar variant of the Galaxy Note 3, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it coming back for a second round with its latest flagship, which has received rave reviews and has done well in sales compared to a couple of previous Galaxy S flagships.
