Earlier this week, a Korean report claimed Samsung is considering a new ‘Glossy Black’ color option for the Galaxy S7, in a bid to take on the Jet Black iPhone 7. It now looks like the report may have been accurate, as evidence of the new color option has surfaced on the web today in the form of a few leaked images showing the Galaxy S7 Edge in the rumored new Glossy Black color.
The images were actually posted on Weibo by a Samsung rep apparently, so the Glossy Black color is indeed going to be available very soon. In the US, the shiny new black version is expected to go on sale sometime next month. Like the Coral Blue shade, it could very well be made available in a few other markets as well. Singapore was among the first markets to get the new Coral Blue option, so we hope the new Glossy Back shade will be made available around the holiday season here.
As you can clearly see in the images, the new black version is definitely a lot glossier than the Onyx Black Galaxy S7 Edge seen behind it. Quite obviously, this means the Glossy Black will be a huge fingerprint magnet. What remains to be seen though is if the new Glossy Black S7 Edge will be scratch-prone like the Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
What are your thoughts on the new Glossy Black shade?
