According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal today, Samsung will include a pressure-sensitive tech similar to Apple’s 3D Touch on its next flagship smartphone.
No specifics have been provided, so we’re not sure if Samsung will be using its own technology or relying on Synaptics for its Clearforce technology. The report also confirms the Galaxy S7 will include an ‘Edge’ variant like the S6. However, it looks like the regular S7 and the S7 Edge won’t be identical in terms of specs. The regular Galaxy S7 will reportedly include a microSD card slot for memory expansion, while the ‘Edge’ variant isn’t likely to offer expandable storage.
Few other details have also been confirmed by the report, including the presence of a USB Type-C port with fast-charging, improved camera, and no significant design changes compared to the Galaxy S6. WSJ sources believe the Galaxy S7 will be made official at the Mobile World Congress in February next year and will go on sale in the US by the middle of March.
