The bigger and curvier S6 edge will go up for pre-order less than two weeks after its unveil.
There seems to be no end to the leaks around Samsung’s upcoming hero devices. A lot of details about the Galaxy S6 edge+ have cropped up online in the last few days, and the latest titbit comes from an official source. Samsung France accidentally put up a pre-order page for the S6 edge+, revealing August 21 to be the date when consumers will be able to book the device.
Previous leaks had suggested the phone would go on sale on the aforementioned date, but it looks like that release date might only be true for the Galaxy Note 5. It’s unclear why Samsung is going full steam ahead with its next flagships so ahead of its regular schedule, though it’s looking more and more likely that Apple’s upcoming iPhones are an important part of the Korean manufacturer’s plans even though they aren’t expected to be as popular as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ is set to feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD dual-edge display, an Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,000 mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Rumor has it that the S6 edge+ will receive more marketing resources than the Note 5, a move that might be warranted given the runaway success of the Galaxy S6 edge.
