Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0 update begins rolling out in India

Galaxy S5

Samsung is now pushing out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S5 in India.

The rollout in India comes barely days after the update started to hit the Galaxy S5 SM-G900F in Sri Lanka. Unsurprisingly, the latest update is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and carries the firmware version G900IDDU1CPD1.

Needless to say, you will find all the usual Marshmallow features baked into this update. Some of the highlights include Google Now on Tap, new “Doze” mode, greater control over app permissions, and more.

In case you haven’t received the update notification on your device yet, you can try going to the Settings Menu – About Device – Software Update and then check for the update manually. Alternatively, the update can also be installed by connecting your Galaxy S5 to your PC and then getting the update through the Samsung Smart Switch software.
