The Galaxy J5 (2016) was recently made official by Samsung alongside the Galaxy J7 (2016) for the Chinese market, but the company didn’t say when the devices would be launched internationally. The original Galaxy J5 and J7 came out in June last year and took a couple of months to become widely available, but according to SamMobile that might not be the case this time around.
Official firmware files for the Galaxy J5 (2016) have popped up online for European variants, with the device also set to launch in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Availability of firmware usually indicates a device is under development, though there is still no concrete date for when the Galaxy J5 (2016) (and the Galaxy J7 (2016)) will make it out of the Chinese continent. Things should clear up as the weeks go by and more details make their way online before Samsung officially announces its plans.
