The Galaxy A8 could have the smallest screen bezel for a Samsung smartphone.
The Galaxy A8 is shaping up to be a very interesting handset, with a mix of hardware specifications from devices like the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy S6 that could make it as good as a flagship smartphone without actually being positioned as one. The device has leaked in the flesh in the past and so have its specifications, and the latest leak is offering us another look at the Galaxy A8 out in the wild while also filling in details on its launch and pricing.
As seen in pictures, the Galaxy A8 has an extremely thin bezel around the display, and the overall look is quite attractive, something that wasn’t noticeable from the photos that had shown up before. All in all, the A8 looks like a blown-up version of the Galaxy S6, and could end up impressing consumers even more in terms of design than Samsung’s current flagship smartphone (the non-edge variant.)
When it comes to pricing, NoWhereElse.fr reports that the Galaxy A8 will cost around €439 and could launch in China – the market that has been rumored to be getting the device first – on July 17. The publication has been pretty spot-on with numerous leaks in the past, so it’s very likely the A8 will see an official announcement later this month.
As a refresher, the Galaxy A8 is said to feature a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera with f1.9 aperture, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of expandable internal storage, a 3,050 mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. The hardware is housed in a body that’s 5.94 mm thick at the thinnest point, and will be offered in a choice of black, gold and white color options.
