Rumour: Samsung Galaxy 3D smartphone spotted?

Now that HTC has its EVO 3D and LG has its Optimus 3D, it would make sense that a major player such as Samsung will want to make its entry into the market for 3D-capable smartphones soon in order to grab a slice of the pie for itself. And from the looks of it, users might not have to wait for long to get their hands on a 3D-capable smartphone from the likes of the Korean electronics giant, for rumour has it that a Galaxy 3D is currently under development over at Samsung's labs.

Are you a fan of 3D-capable smartphones such as HTC's EVO 3D and LG's Optimus 3D smartphones? Well, if you are, we've got news for you. Apparently, rumour has it that Samsung is also planning to release its own 3D-capable smartphone some time in the future, and that it will reportedly be called the Samsung Galaxy 3D.

As the picture shown above is little more than a mockup of what is believed to be the elusive Galaxy 3D smartphone, it goes without saying that the smartphone's appearance is far from being finalized, and that the final design of Samsung's alleged upcoming 3D-capable smartphone could potentially differ greatly from the mockup's design that is currently circulating on the Internet right now. However, various sources have claimed that the Galaxy 3D will most likely be preloaded with version 2.3 of the Android operating system (also known as Gingerbread), and that it will reportedly feature a 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D display, dual 8-megapixel cameras and a dual-core processor that is said to be clocked at 1.2GHz or higher.

Last but definitely not least, an Android-centric blog known as Android Community is claiming that the Galaxy 3D will reportedly feature either a HDMI-out or HD TV output to allow users the ability to enjoy 3D videos on their 3D-capable television sets right out of the box. Oh, and it has also mentioned that Samsung might just release its 3D-capable smartphone some time in Q4 this year, if only because that would be the period where HTC and LG are most likely to be actively working on their own successors to their respective 3D-capable smartphones. Well, we shall see.
